The more you know about the Hispanic Marketplace, the more you will understand how to serve them and create growth for your non-Hispanic business. Friday night I featured a story on the Hispanic marketing and will continue to do more. What prompted my interest was a friend of mine that currently makes his living selling advertising for a local Hispanic newspaper that has been around for 15 years. My friend is not Hispanic and doesn’t even speak Spanish! I was asked to do research for them and the more I learned, the bigger the opportunity I saw.

Like many parents, I dream of my children attending highly-regarded universities whose graduates go on to fascinating careers and change the world. But then, I realize they will be taught by people that write and publish the following: Singapore is tiny compared to the United States (and most other countries, for that matter), but that doesn’t mean it can’t be a model. Barack Obama keeps saying that we need to buckle down and work hard to build an economy based on real production, not hollow financial chicanery.

The First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond has today hit back at growing criticism today over the release of Lockerbie Bomber Al-Megrahi. Salmond said that it was the ‘right decision’. Salmond’s statement comes after FBI Chief Robert Mueller spoke out about the release calling it a ‘mockery of justice’, and former Scottish First Minister stating that it was a ‘grave error of judgment’. The highly controversial decision has led to the Scottish Parliament being recalled a week early, when it will begin to speak about the decision on Monday.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. military’s top uniformed officer expressed concern Sunday about eroding public support for the war in Afghanistan and said the country remains vulnerable to being taken over again by extremist forces. The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said President Barack Obama’s new strategy for defeating the Taliban and al-Qaida was a work in progress as more U.S. troops are put in place. In broadcast interviews, Adm. Mike Mullen wouldn’t say whether more American forces troops would be needed.
