Photo: Flickr , CC For “Raising Awareness on Climate Change” Canadian eco-hero David Suzuki might not be getting a Nobel prize like Barack Obama, but his life’s work has not gone unnoticed. The Right Livelihood Foundation , which was founded in 1980 by Swedish-German philanthropist Jakob von Uexkull to “recognize work that he felt was ignored by the Nobel Prizes,” will give an honorary award to Suzuki. The prizes will be handed out at the Swedish parliament on Dec. 4, a week before the actual Nobels….

Continuing her efforts in the nation’s capital, Eva Longoria got all glammed up as she spent the evening at the White House on Tuesday (October 13). Joining President Barack Obama and her fellow Latino celebrities, the “Desperate Housewives” beauty was on hand to host the In Performance at the White House: Fiesta Latina event alongside George Lopez and Jimmy Smits. According to press reports, the concert included sets by Gloria Estefan and Aventura – with it being part of a music series launched by First Lady Michelle Obama.

Excuse my absence in recent days. Waking up to the news that US president Barack Obama was awarded the Peace Nobel Prize – is yet known to what charity he will give the $1 million coming attached with it? – I cannot resist the impression that we have landed straight in George Orwell’s “1984″ where war is peace in the kind of newspeak Orwell theorized about in 1948 but that has become reality today, making me doubt everything that has been accepted knowledge until last weekend.

As the consumer pricing index continues to fall, the State of Colorado will become the first state since 1938 to lower it’s minimum wage. The state Department of Labor and Employment ordered the wage down from $7.28 to $7.24. That’s lower than the federal minimum wage of $7.25, so the de facto decline will be to the Fed minimum. Read More We see that Colorado is enjoying the Obama times! The State governments are hurting and Obama is still spending millions campaigning.

In a previous post , I gave you information about a protest against Obama’s health care policies that will be held in San Francisco tomorrow. I hope that many of you in the Bay Area can attend. After passing on that news, I turned to the SF Chronicle, and saw a headline that Obama, afraid of protesters, is refusing to have any public appearances in San Francisco. “Wow,” I thought. “Who knew that a little anti-health care rallying could send Obama into hiding.” But here’s the funny thing:
