Americans want health care bill, but not the cost Most Americans say it’s important to overhaul health care this year, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds, but they are less enthusiastic about some of the proposals to pay for it. Change We’d Rather Do Without The reason Americans have turned against health-care reform , after electing President Obama in part for promising it, is simple: Despite protestations to the contrary, Americans don’t like change.

Voting machine source-code leak shows election-rigging subroutines? – Boing Boing 10/21/09 Sequoia, a company that makes many of the electronic voting machines used in the US and elsewhere, has inadvertently leaked much of the secret source-code that powers its systems. The first cut at analysis shows what looks like illegal election-rigging code (”code that appears to control or at least influence the logical flow of the election”) in the source. Sequoia blew it on a public records response.

First Lady Michelle Obama didn’t shy away from questions about her commander-in-chief husband on Friday night’s “Jay Leno Show.” Asked by Leno what she thinks President Barack Obama’s most annoying habit is, Mrs. Obama joked, “We don’t have enough time,” before continuing, “He has no annoying habits … he’s perfect.” Then, after reconsidering the question, she said, “When he beats me at tennis, that gets to be pretty annoying, and he beats me quite often.” The first lady also disclosed who’s on her iPod playlist, naming musicians such as Stevie Wonder, Sting, Robin Thicke and Mary J.

Now that the rest of the networks have sided with Fox News on remaining in the White House news pool, everyone is on the enemies list and the only network news that administration officials will appear on is SCTV News with Floyd Robertson and Earl Camembert.EVIL.2. Even the Huffington Post thought the White House erred in attempting to exclude Fox News from the press pool. All for one, one for all…GOOD.3.

Barack Obama: The do as I say, not as I do President. President Barack Obama has declared that swine flu is a national emergency in the United States. However, Obama has not vaccinated his own two daughters. So how exactly does a President declare a national emergency and not vaccinate his own children? The declaration, signed Friday night and announced Saturday, comes with the disease more prevalent than ever in the country and production delays undercutting the government’s initial, optimistic estimates that as many as 120 million doses of the vaccine could be available by mid-October.
