If you think we’ve got problems with our healthcare system now, just wait until you see what your government has in store for you . . . President Obama is pushing nationalized health insurance via the so-called public option , which is the first step toward socialized medicine. All Republicans and at least a few Senate Democrats will vote against this now. But the compromise legislation will almost certainly include a “trigger” to adopt the public option in just a few years! This is a sneaky backdoor way into socialized medicine.

Looks like hangdog Harry’s Reid’s public government consumer socialist zombie option is on the ropes again. Democratic moderates who control the balance of power on health care legislation balked Tuesday at a government-run insurance option for millions of Americans, underscoring the enormity of the challenge confronting Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid one day after he unveiled the plan as a consensus product. Republican opposition stiffened, and party leaders announced they would attempt to strangle the bill before formal debate begins.

Today I got mail from the Republican National Committee — a survey they want me to fill out and (of course) an attached contribution form.   I don’t know why they sent it to me, because in spite of their urging me “and other grassroots Republicans” to respond to their survey, I am not a registered Republican.   Maybe it’s because my neighborhood is mostly Republican, though our nearest neighbors are bigwigs in the local Libertarian party.  In any case, many of the survey questions contain

Barack Obama has failed to defeat conservatism in America This week’s striking Gallup poll on political ideology is further confirmation that the United States is in essence a conservative nation, which has ironically become even more conservative under Barack Obama. According to Gallup, 40 percent of Americans describe their political views as conservative, 36 percent as moderate and 20 percent as liberal. This is the first time conservatives have outnumbered moderates in America since 2004.
