I’m a huge fan of Close Encounters of the Third Kind and my two favourite characters are not played by Richard Dreyfuss or Teri Garr, but rather by François Truffaut and Bob Balaban (then sporting a lot more hair and calling himself “Robert,” if I recall correctly).
