Oh, the nuts at CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) are working overtime. As the Huffington Post noticed: Pat Robertson’s Christian Broadcasting Network posted a blog by Kimberly Daniels recently that warns Christians to forgo celebrating Halloween because of its evilness. Daniels specifically calls out candy as a source of soul-molestation: “During this period demons are assigned against those who participate in the rituals and festivities.

This morning, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) unveiled the re-tooled Affordable Health Care for America Act ( HR 3962 ). The bill will cost $900 billion over 10 years, extending health coverage to 36 million Americans (6-7 million more than the Senate Finance Committee’s version). As Igor Volsky points out, it also “ includes a national public option that reimburses physicians at negotiated rates and requires individuals to acquire coverage and large employers to provide it.” A less-noticed

KennedyOn February 12, the federal “Vaccine Court” in Washington issued a sweeping ruling in three highly touted “test cases” against families who claimed that their childrens’ autism had been caused by vaccines. The Special Masters in those three cases found that Petitioners failed to establish causation between MMR vaccines, the mercury-laced vaccine preservative thimerosal, and autism (the court decision, which is under appeal, deferred any finding on a thimerosal-only theory of causation).

The Moral Ferocity of Eating Animals Dr. Andrew Weil Huffington Post Editor’s note: Stories of this ilk are included in the blog to inform those in our industry how agriculture is being presented to and perceived by the public. It is a rare human act that is utterly reprehensible. Some glimmer of grace, some hope for redemption shines through nearly all of our efforts. And then, Jonathan Safran Foer reminds us in his new book, Eating Animals there is factory farming of living creatures.

Senator Harry Reid has been the leader in the push for government run health care and it is NOT because he “cares” for the average working people. Senator Reid wants us to turn over control to him and his Democratic partners because then they will have more control over their campaign contributors and us. A report from campaignlegalcenter.org shows the tally of health care related contributions to candidates in 2008. In the report, Senator Reid received almost 25% of his PAC related campaign money from health care sources including hospitals and drug companies.

Quick question to whom it may concern. Why would any publication hire someone who claims to be an expert in a discipline that doesn’t actually exist, especially one that’s obsessed with the idea that the U.S. is about to announce its knowledge of an intelligent alien species in contact with our planet? Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for amusement, but Michael Salia actually seems serious, predicting that there will be an official White House announcement that we’re not alone in December of this year.
