The New York Post is one of the country’s worst newspapers, and its editorial content essentially makes it the print edition of FOX News. It’s a glaring example of News Corp’s vertical integration at work. Rupert’s rag ran an account of a New York gun nut yesterday, though. But it’s the rest of the story that’s most compelling.

Maybe he’s upset because his wack job listeners haven’t shot up any cops or Unitarians lately.Maybe he’s upset because the entire world groaned as onw when he made the utterly ridiculous charge that the President is a racist (we all thought “WTF?!?” It’s kinda like Manson calling you a dirty murderer, after all.)Maybe he’s just plain bat shit crazy.Maybe it’s everything I said above. Remember when you were a kid and you read detective books like the Encyclopedia Brown series. You always tried to crack the code but you couldn’t figure out how. You could never figure out how the crime of the blue bike being stolen was solved. Well that’s what the Birthers have become – wannabe low-rent “Encyclopedia Browns”.
Now they think they have the smoking gun – “A Kenyan Birth Certificate”. Probably got that in conjunction with one of those Kenyan email scams.

Democrat leaders and their government-controlled allies in the press are on the attack against those who ask for empirical proof of Obama’s qualifications under the Constitution to be president. These folks, usually conservative bloggers and media personalities are labeled as ”birthers” (after the “truther” kooks who believe that 9/11 was a U.S, government conspiracy) and ridiculed as sore losers and racists, all those who cannot accept Obama’s victory. Ridicule is, of course, Rule #5 among Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals.

The New York Post reports a Long Island single mother of three was arrested Thursday for “scouting out and taking pictures” of an Air National Guard base, with an assault rifle, a shotgun and 500 rounds of ammunition in her car. And wouldn’t you know, The Daily Kos finds today that this woman was a big Glenn Beck fan. Luckily this woman was stopped before she could hurt anyone, but it was only a matter of time before a Fox News host like Beck was going to inspire a crazy person to act on their already simmering feelings of government antipathy.

Now they book right-wing crackpots like Michelle Malkin, who is to thoughtful analysis as a hammer is to a healer’s hands. If ABC News is nothing more than a promotional outlet for authors of hysterical fringe fiction such as Malkin–she has a new book out, which must be why she’s emerged from her tea party outhouse recently–they need to drop the “News” from their name.
