We’ve been wondering what the Microsoft’s retail shops are going to be like. Well, according to a Powerpoint presentation leaked to us, it’s going to make the Apple Store look downright boring . The presentation is by Lippicott , a “design and brand strategy” consultant firm with extensive retail experience that it appears Microsoft has hired to help develop the store’s concept, principles, and design. It looks pretty legit to us–if it’s a fake, it’s fairly elaborate, with detailed graphics, research, plans and even rough store layouts .

Although Google still remains the primary method to search for information on the web, the rise of web 2.0 and various social sites like Twitter have created alternative destinations for useful data which may not be easy to find using Google. So, when an app proposes to enhance Google search results by adding information from sites like Twitter, Wikipedia and Youtube and display the results in a sidebar than it is definitely worth taking a look at. The name of the app is WebMynd , a Firefox extension.

You should be refilling that popcorn bucket right about now. While we thought the next round of the Pre / iTunes syncing fiasco would probably be something simple like Apple releasing another quick patch , Palm has stepped it up a notch by complaining to the USB Implementers Forum over what it sees is “improper use of the Vendor ID number” by the gang at Cupertino.
