Noirin Or Marcus – Who Goes?bigbrotherblog.spaces.live.com
07/28/2009
So it’s official, Marcus faces Noirin on Friday and to be honest, I hope Noirin goes! Here’s who nominated who… (Ironic that Marcus and Noirin voted for each other) Bea nominates David because “I don’t have very interesting conversations with him” and also because “his laugh drives me up the wall”. Her second nomination is for Lisa. Her reasons are that “she has got a bit of an agenda and preys on the vulnerable” Charlie nominates Noirin and Siavash.

The twice-monthly Lost Knowledge column explores the possible technology of the future in the forgotten ideas of the past (and those just slightly off to the side). Every other Wednesday, we look at retro-tech, “lost” technology, and the make-do, improvised “street tech” of village artisans and tradespeople from around the globe. “Lost Knowledge” was also the theme of MAKE, Volume 17 This week, we take a peek at the not-lost but fast-fading art of wire-wrapping.

L.A. Times tech reporter, Mark Milian, shows Facebook users the way to freedom from advertising-driven exploitation. Social news sites Digg, Reddit and StumbleUpon all are experimenting with user-ranked ads. Facebook is taking a different approach by sticking your mugshot directly into your friends’ sponsored posts. Milian then offers the link to opt out of this “corporate shill,” something I just did, thanks to his heads up.

“I see you everywhere!” Yup, I get that a lot!  Colleagues and clients tell me all the time that I seem to be “everywhere.”  They see me on YouTube, Facebook, on blogs and on Twitter.  I am definitely visible!  But my online visibility is no accident.   My visibility strategy is simple:  I leverage the power of video to increase my exposure – and you can, too!
