And black is always the best choice to frame its high-contrasting, 3.3-inch AMOLED if you’re the type who likes to see the display fade into the device during particularly dark video sequences. Still, choice is good, and white DAPs are trending (again) so why not ceramic white? It’s not like the S9’s viewable display actually stretches end-to-end like you might assume .

Last we voted the COWON S9 as our PMP of the Year . We gave much credit to its beautifully unique design and high-quality parts. The AMOLED screen have also extremely charmed us. Now, COWON has announced the S9 White Version. It’s the same PMP, but only with a ceramic white backing and matching earpieces. What do we think of it? Filed under: Games , Software , Nokia It’s probably a bit premature to sound the death knell for Nokia’s current generation of the N-Gage platform, but it certainly doesn’t bode well that they’ve wound down operations at the Vancouver, British Columbia-based studio responsible for many games stretching back to N-Gage’s origins.

There’s nothing official yet, but evidence is mounting to suggest that Raon Digital has closed up shop in similar fashion to OQO before it. Following rumors of bankruptcy and anecdotal observations of limited stock and reduced service, all Raon Digital communications have gone silent and the website’s been taken offline. If true, then the demise will be met with styli held at half mast by UMPC enthusiasts who were particularly fond of the overpriced ($879 at launch) and problematic Everun Note “premium” netbook.

The cost of downloading the songs looks to be pretty cheap, at around the 79 pence mark in the UK, and will be DRM free so you can switch them between any MP3 playing object as you wish.
