Leaked Intel roadmap specs upcoming Core i5 and i7 ‘Lynnfield’ CPUs Looking for something to print out and put on your wall that demonstrates the full extent of your Intel dedication? PC Watch has some mighty high resolution charts of the company’s desktop and mobile CPU roadmaps, including a handful of chips that we haven’t seen before. On the Lynnfield / desktop side, there’s the Core i7 870 (2.93 to 3.6GHz) and 860 (up to 3.46GHz), due out second half 2009, with the latter having a greater range in available clock speeds and a less power hungry, 82 watt version due out next year.

Ah DigiTimes, what would a morning be without your rumors sourced from within Taiwan’s component suppliers? Today’s tattle has Acer launching its A1, C1/E1, F1, and L1 smartphones “at the end of September and in the fourth quarter” — that a four-month spread. Of these, the F1 running WinMo 6.5 (pictured above) on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platform and A1 running Android are undoubtedly the most interesting. The idea of bending over to pick up a virtual tennis racket in front of that 50-inch flat screen in our living room makes perfect sense to us. In fact, we can’t wait to see Natal come to the Xbox platform. However, the idea of manipulating an excel spreadsheet on a 15-inch screen within a 5 x 5-foot cubicle sounds daunting, to say the least. Fortunately, Microsoft’s plans to integrate Natal into corporate Windows environments appears rather sober, albeit, entirely lacking in specifics.

If you’re hoping to get in on discounted pre-order pricing for Windows 7 in the UK then you’d best get to clicking, son. We’re hearing that copies of the £50 Windows 7 Home Premium E are already sold-out on Amazon but still available at Play.com, for example. Stocks of Windows 7 Professional E look plentiful at £100, for the time being anyway. While the offer is scheduled to go until August 9th, it’s limited to some magical quantity known only to Microsoft and its retailers.
