Motorola ( NYSE: MOT ) seems to be working on a new low-end series, marked “WX.” We’re talking about very basic stuff here which includes tiny screens, GSM/GPRS (maybe EDGE?) connectivity, VGA or no camera at all, optional Bluetooth, minimal or no internal storage, and so on. That said, these will most likely hit the emerging markets of the world where potential customers will be able to grab them for around $20. For the time being, we’ve heard that the WX395 model is as basic as you can get that includes nothing but GPRS data along with a mentioned small screen.

Engadget is reporting that the much-awaited TomTom’s iPhone Car Kit briefly showed up on Apple’s online store in the UK with an asking price of £99.95. Last we heard, Archos was readying an Android phone, or the “Phone Tablet” they like to call it and now the device got detailed, as you’ll see in the video below. The handset looks really neat and it might be a game-changing device. Its specs are impressive too: a 1GHz ARM Cortex processor, a 4.3 inch 854 x 480 pixels display, a front facing camera and a thin titanium case. This is a 3.5G phone that we expect to see running Android in the near future, probably with that cool media layer on top, that was also present on the Archos 5 Internet Tablet.
