Howdy! If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed for all of our latest crap.Blogs with Balls 2.0 will be held on October 15th and 16th in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Gunaxin will be in the house. The event will be held in conjunction with Blog World Expo, and is the second in a “series of regional social sports blogger and new media gatherings featuring speakers and panelists specifically focused on sports fans, writers, sites, teams, athletes and companies; and their ability to maximize new media outlets for promotion and advancement.” We attended the first one in New York, and it was great, so we couldn’t miss the Vegas version.

Gawker Media wants to pay $1,000 for a new picture of Hollywood blog queen Nikki Finke. Nikki is powerful and, having sold her site to Web mogul Jay Penske , relatively rich for a reporter. Journalism about Nikki Finke has become a cottage industry. Each new profile provokes a flurry of reviews , debunkers and all-around Big Media Disappointment. But wading through all the miles of pixels spilled about La Finke, the same damn picture pops up again and again. Over and over, the same black-and-white picture of Nikki in what appears to have been a audition photo for the role of the evil headmistress in a 1940’s film. At Gawker, we’re prepared to do something about this distressing dearth of Finke images.
