We now know the secret of Roger Federer’s success: Anna Wintour! The Vogue editrix has been entirely devoted during the entire U.S. Open, but left during his final set against Juan Martin del Potro yesterday. And then he lost. She-devil! Just to recap: Park Slope rez and former sex columnist Amy Sohn wrote a book called Prospect Park West that satirizes the stroller mafia, SAHM lifestyle that’s so prevalent in our neighborhood. The whole book takes place in Park Slope, and all of the typical Park Slope stereotypes (helicopter moms, sexless marriages, crazies at the Coop, etc) are served up on a silver platter like a warm plate of homemade chocolate chip cookies. And yes people, it really is that delicious.

“As far as this whole story is concerned, I think that the reason it has been such a big deal is because I am pretty, intelligent and very well spoken,” Ferrell told ABC News in a series of phone interviews from jail. “I am charming and funny.” Ferrell, 22, faces up to 12 years in a Utah prison for forging checks, fraud and theft. But when she is sentenced on Oct. 9 she will probably get less time thanks to a plea agreement made last month. He may be jacking up his ratings with all his, um, displays of distrust of the Obama administration and its policies, but it seems that Fox News pontificator Glenn Beck might well be feeling the burn in the advertising department for all his bloviating (not to mention his spelling issues ).  —KA Gawker: Color of Change, the advocacy organization co-founded by Glenn Beck’s archnemesis [Van] Jones, began calling on advertisers to pull their ads from Beck’s show in early August, shortly

This happened in Washington, DC over the weekend: My buddy Matt Welch, Reason editor-in-chief, was there . I consider Matt to be way too much of a centrist, though he does a superb job fighting the good fight when it comes to most forms of liberty. But consider that this is a guy in favor of some form of socialized healthcare.

When Guest of a Guest speculated that last night’s Kanye West – Taylor Swift incident at the VMAs was scripted it sent a shockwave through Gawker HQ. Brian Moylan thinks it’s fake and Richard Rushfield thinks it’s real. Punches are being thrown! Well, we’re a little more civilized than that, but we’re up for some spirited debate. Moylan : As Guest of Guest points out, the whole things seems too good to be true, and too many people benefit.

Looks like Kari Ferrell is running her mouth about how she pulled the curtain over everyone, which I guess is her only solace since it all backfired on her.I know that we shouldn’t care about some attention-hungry identity-crises-laden hipster, but I can’t help but think that the internet collectively created this monster. She detracts her critics as people who want their 15 minutes of fame, but we’re the ones who bought into her publicity stunts.
