Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) is finally coming to iPhones running on the AT&T network. It is reported to arrive via a software update from Apple today. MMS is a feature of most mobile phones that enables sending of multimedia objects such as photos, short videos and audio files to other MMS-capable phones without necessarily utilizing the email protocol.

I almost didn’t consider this news, because every time it’s mentioned, someone out there casually scoffs and makes some remark about how the iPhone should have had this a loooooooooong time ago.They are right, and the blame has been pretty strongly placed with AT&T already. If you’re looking for a smartphone, but you just don’t want to fork over all that cash for a brand new iPhone, for example, then there’s good news: both the Palm Pre and the Apple iPhone have dropped in price. First, the iPhone: AT&T is selling the refurbished 8GB iPhone 3Gs for $49.99 with a two-year contract.
