Reading & replying to a wide world of messages in my various Inboxes today, I happened across the following information, which I received from the Student Loan Justice group on Facebook: Our New York State Lead…discovered, and confirmed very recently that a company contracted by the Department of Education to provide staffing for its Ombudsman office, Vangent (formerly NCO Pearsons), is also functioning as a student loan debt collector.

Here is a provocative take on an internet juggernaut: Google is nothing but a giant Ponzi scheme that is coming undone as I write. This is not an accusation, but more a hypothesis.  What gives this hypothesis legs is a recent discovery that Google is aggressively cracking down on so-called “violators” of the terms and conditions of its “Adsense” program.  My own website recently fell victim to this ruthless and mindless activity.  We have been gradually building our readership and hence our

The home of John R. Mallgren of Mastic Beach, New York was condemned for unsafe conditions. Workers then removed 85,000 pounds of debris from the property, which required 10 garbage trucks! The city is sending the $8,742 bill to the owner of the property, John W. Mallgren, who is the occupant’s father. He had tried to clean up the property before, but was threatened by his son. Town Supervisor Mark Lesko said a pit bull was also seized, and was taken to a shelter.
