This is the first in a series of posts where we attempt to examine the current public option being proposed as part of the overal health care reform act being debated by congress. This first post attempts to outline my preference for single payer health care and isolate some potential concerns about the public health care option.  Following this post a second installment will be offered that attempts to disect the current public option being debated and to see if our fears hold up underneath or are untenable.
