Today at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco, Sheryl Sandberg , Facebook’s COO sat down to talk with Federated Media’s John Battelle. Below find my live notes (paraphrased): JB: So earlier we saw the Bing announcement, but we SS: We’re announcing today that we’re working with Microsoft to give them a feed of our updates that are open to the public. In the Bing search results you’ll see all data that users make public. JB: So when will that be in Google? SS: Oh you almost got me.

Sad news for anyone concerned with honesty and accuracy in education research and reporting, Jerry Bracey has died unexpectedly. No news reports, but did get a confirmation from Susan Ohanian . Jerry fought the good fight, with the Education Disinformation Detection and Reporting Agency (EDDRA), on the Huffington Post , in books , articles, columns, calls and notes to editors and reporters, anywhere and anytime that education research was being misused and abused or was simply badly done.

Center For Public Integrity Spotlights Abstinence-Only Education’s Benefactor The Huffington Post | Jenna Staul The Center for Public Integrity takes a look at “abstinence-only” education crusader Raymond Ruddy — a wealthy retired businessman who has spent millions of his own dollars lobbying Congress. Ruddy, who runs his own pro-life charity based in Natick, Mass., has reached into his own apparently deep pockets to fund lobbying efforts pushing federally funded abstinence-only sex education.
