Carly Fiorina’s Web site went live on Monday. WASHINGTON (CNN) – As former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina prepares to enter the 2010 California Senate race on the GOP side, her quirky new Web site is being ridiculed by the online community — and not just by those on the political left. Republicans are also snickering about her bare-bones site, CarlyforCalifornia.com, which launched Monday and welcomes visitors with an animation describing a potential showdown between Fiorina and Democratic Sen.

Some have asked why I feel that it was okay to record the August 10th White House and National Endowment for the Arts conference call. The August 10th conference call was organized and called by the White House and two federal agencies, including the National Endowment for the Arts and the Corporation for National and Community Service. The invitation to participate in the conference went to people all over the country, both inside and outside Washington, D.C., and included editors and contributors to various media outlets. Additionally, various media outlets announced themselves on the conference call.

It’s not every day that a woman gets to break a record just by giving birth, but that’s exactly what an Indonesian woman did earlier this week when she delivered (by C-section, thankfully) a 19.2-pound baby boy , the largest infant ever born in her country. [Lemondrop] In other bizarre pregnancy news, an Arkansas woman is expecting two babies—but they aren’t twins! Doctors think she conceived the babies about two weeks apart , an occurrence so rare that there are only 10 reported cases.

The House and Senate voted to end funding for ACORN in the wake of a video sting. Now some are asking why the same treatment isn’t being given to corrupt defense contractors. This has been an interesting week for mothers of the world. News broke that an Indonesian woman gave birth to a 19 pound baby boy–the biggest in the country’s history. At the same time reports of a pregnant women who became pregnant AGAIN surfaced, prompting us to compile a list of the craziest birth stories of all time.

Two-time Harvard graduate and longtime Kennedy aide, Paul Kirk, has been chosen to stand in late Senator Kennedy’s place as Massachusetts Senator. The interim role is thought to help Democrats reach the critical mass of 60 votes– the threshold needed to further the health care reform bill by ending debate on the floor. However, considering the hesitancy of moderate Democrats concerning the current health care reform measures, soon-to-be Senator Kirk’s vote may not be the deciding one.
