As if a loaded lineup (Souls of Mischief, Tanya Morgan, Finale, Oddisee, Trinity, Kam Moye and many more) and high quality freebies (see below) weren’t enough, Wyatt Cenac and Che Grand have been tapped to host the Audible Treats CMJ Showcase ‘09. Cenac is a standup comedian, actor and Emmy-winning writer who is best known for his position as a correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Che Grand is a New York-based rapper who recently released the album Everything’s Good Ugly.

San Francisco – Websites like YouTube have ushered in a new era of creativity and free speech on the Internet, but not everyone is celebrating. Some of the web’s most interesting content has been yanked from popular websites with bogus copyright claims or other spurious legal threats. So today the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) is launching its “Takedown Hall of Shame” to call attention to particularly bogus takedowns — and showcase the amazing online videos and other creative works that someone doesn’t want you to see.

Immediately upon returning to the air, Jon Stewart goes after John McCain and his full of crap “Internet Freedom Act of 2009,” which does nothing but give big corporations the freedom to do whatever the hell they want. Has anyone watched this yet? This is an incredible speech delivered to NYC Organizing for America volunteers on October 20th, 2009. You can’t help but love this guy. He’s got the eloquence of John Kennedy and the timing of Jon Stewart. He really makes you want to believe in him, and I do, right up until about minute #18 when someone from the crowd yells out, “SINGLE PAYER!” Watch and listen… 29 million people? What about the other 20 million? Maybe we don’t need a mop. Maybe we need a shovel?
