By  Christian Toto:  09/23/2009The left says Glenn Beck must be stopped.Beck, a media giant who commanders not just the radio but television, books and even comedy halls nationwide, is starting to collect liberal scalps. And the left, along with their chums in the mainstream media, won’t stand for it.Witness Time magazine’s latest cover story — “Mad Man: Is Glenn Beck Bad for America” — merely the most visible attempt to destroy/silence/marginalize the populist talker. For the last few years the left and the press would take shots at Beck, but never in a concerted fashion.

Editor’s Note: AJ Kaufman’s weekly MNF coverage on MSF is sponsored by Sadler’s Smokehouse, a producer of premium pit smoked meats that are best described by Sadler’s slogan: Legendary since 1948. Sadler’s premium meats are perfect for tailgating on Saturday, for grilling out at home on Sunday, or for when you are hosting a group of friends, or even just the family, on Monday night.

Crossposted with the Center for American Progress. With Mickey Ehrlich One night last week, Jon Stewart asked his audience, “Where were the real reporters on this story?” He meant the exposure of several ACORN employees giving tax advice to a young man and woman pretending to be a pimp and prostitute. The misdirected animosity toward the “real reporters” in this instance was a rare misstep for the usually perspicacious press critic/comedian.

Dear Sleep, Hey, how’s it hangin? I haven’t seen much of you lately. I miss you. Remember how tight we were in high school and college? Gosh, those were the days. We would hang out for hours at a time – uninterrupted hours! Hey, thanks for helping me with all those hangovers, too. I mean, we had our outs. Remember the Great Insomnia of sophomore year in college? That was bad. But, we had some counseling (read – sleeping pills) and it all worked out. We made it through those tough times.

Plaxico Burress ’s saga has now reached its sad dénouement, with the former Giant matriculating into the New York penal system. One loose end remains, however: the matter of the sweat pants he wasn’t wearing. Who’s responsible for the sweat-pants misinformation? We refer, of course, to the sweat pants in which Plaxico had supposedly secreted his Glock the night he capped himself in the thigh. Everyone had a chuckle over the sweat pants. This site did. Jon Stewart did. Patton Oswalt did.
