Here’s a video Microsoft have put out to generate some buzz on Office 2010: Some people are criticizing it saying that it’s all hype and doesn’t show anything about Office 2010 at all. I say “who cares”! Good on Microsoft for finally waking up from their typical boring advertising. It’s great to see some creativity and humor for once.

The engineers at Apple Inc, unlike the iTunes app approval department appear to be earning their money. According to the below Macrumors article by Eric Slivka, Apple has applied for some very cool patent applications for new technology directly aimed at the iPhone and iPhone users. I like the face recognition patent the best and the idea that we could be using this function for entrance into your iPhone (very, very cool).

Intuit posted in its The Quicken Blog an announcement of Quicken for Mac coming in February 2010, and apologized for its delay. This squashed all rumors lately by media and bloggers that Intuit might not release a desktop version of Quicken for the Mac. All because Microsoft announced on 10 June 2009 that it would discontinue sales of Microsoft Money Plus from 30 June 2009. Microsoft Money has been Quicken’s biggest competitor for personal finance software on Windows.

Apple’s newest patent filed and approved gives the iPhone tons of upgrades that would be pretty useful to the techies out there. Object Recognition : One patent application , filed on June 17th, 2008, describes methods by which a mobile device user could detect an object via camera, RFID sensor or other means and have their device automatically identify and provide additional information on the object.
