Passionate fans go out of their way to share their enthusiasm with the world, sometimes even going so far as to alter their Twitter avatars to take on the likeness of or support their favorite artist, sports team, or social media site. We’ve already seen sites like Twibbon allow users to rally around causes by updating their avatars, but a new service powered by Twitter photo sharing site, Tweetphoto, called Fantar , could prove be to be the easiest way for brands, bands, and celebrities to rally fan support on Twitter.

When you want to do a one-on-one video chat with someone else, what do you use? The first thing that probably comes to mind is Skype . While Skype is a great service, it isn’t practical for when you just want to get a video chat going (both sides must have the software). Plus, they’ve got some legal troubles brewing . Web conferencing system and even Google chat via video require plugins or some getting used to.

Over the last ten months, Facebook Connect has flourished as a tool to not only minimize login and sign-up minutiae, but to allow developers and content creators to add a social link to their sites and services. Yesterday, Facebook introduced Translations for Facebook Connect as a way to make site translation faster and easier. In blog post , Facebook also introduced two additional tools: the Facebook Connect Wizard and Playground as a way to make implementing Facebook Connect easier for developers and content creators alike.

AT&T realizes that mobile applications are a huge opportunity. After all, they do have the largest and most popular platform, the iPhone app store, solely on their network. But now they’re looking to improve their mobile app and widget presence. Oh, and they’re doing it in a big way: they’ve just acquired mobile app developer Plusmo . Plusmo, for those who are not familiar, is a mobile widget developer and platform.
