GAINESVILLE — We here at Gator Clause demand full transparency. We want to know which Southeastern Conference football coach did not vote Florida quarterback Tim Tebow for first-team offense in the SEC football preseason all-conference football team? (sarcasm, people) The league’s preseason all-SEC teams were released today. While coaches voted 16 UF players to three teams and eight UF players to the first-team offense, defense and special teams, there is one minor problem.

As we endure the endless hours of Sotomayor testimony, let’s remember that rehashing the bizarre lives of dead pop stars can be SO much more interesting than 99.9% of Senate testimony. That said, in researching my new book “ Hollywood on the Potomac ,” I found an historic tidbit that spoke volumes about both Michael Jackson and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. He wasn’t Chief Justice at the time… but when John Roberts was a young lawyer in the Reagan White House, he was very much concerned with Michael Jackson.

Among songs that could come out after singer’s death are collaborations with Queen’s Freddie Mercury. By Gil Kaufman Michael Jackson Photo: Michel Linssen/Redferns With reported worldwide sales of more than 9 million albums , Michael Jackson has already proved worthy of his self-imposed King of Pop title in the weeks since his death. But his former boss at Sony Music, Tommy Mottola, says that there could be much, much more Jackson music released from the vaults in the years to come, some of it stretching all the way back to the singer’s early 1980s heyday.

There has never been a better time to promote the importance of local growing, organic farming, using and developing sustainable agricultural practices, and for big companies to cash in on all that goodness.  The good: Willie Nelson will bring Farm Aid to St. Louis.  The expected – tickets can only be purchased through LiveNation – the now uncontested ruler of all things live performance in the universe.

In 1989 , Canadian record-industry reps claiming to represent Michael Jackson forced Toronto artist-composer John Oswald to turn over hundreds of copies of his landmark Plunderphonics CD (see cover above) to be destroyed. You can find out what happened next and Oswald’s reaction to his former antagonist’s death in my piece today in The Globe and Mail. I’ve also put together a list of other MJ-inspired art . That list was trimmed down by the paper for space, by the way.

Many celebs hit the red carpet last night at the ESPY awards in LA to honor the stars of the sports industry. Samuel L. Jackson was the evening’s host, and he kept the audience laughing with his jokes about Twitter. Zachary Quinto took the stage looking dapper in his suit, while Miranda Kerr smiled for photos before the scary robbery at Orlando Bloom’s house. Demi Moore was also on hand to present Michael Phelps with one of his five awards.

July 16th, 2009 by Hamid Abbasi ( 59 Views )Share on Twitter It has been argued time and time again, and I have the same opinion that peace is the best way around, and the most practical path to achieve it is through dialogue. The same can be said with regards to the 15th NAM Summit in Egypt, which also features a meeting between PM Gillani and Manmohan Singh. Though analyst have termed it vital for the near future, I personally believe that the unbending stance of Indians and Pakistanis will stop it short.
