At the age of 93, Walter Cronkite died today. Uncle Walter, as we grew up knowing him as, was the last honest News reporter after Edward R. Murrow died. He took us through it all; World War 2, Korea, Kennedy, Vietnam, and he was synonymous with the manned space projects right up to the moon landings. He was an admitted Democrat through and through, but never allowed politics to dictate his feelings, especially when he came back from Vietnam and said the best we could hope for was a stalemate.
