By HILLEL ITALIE (AP) NEW YORK — These are boom times for conservative authors. Michelle Malkin’s ” Culture of Corruption: Obama and His Team of Tax Cheats, Crooks and Cronies ” spent weeks at No. 1 on The New York Times nonfiction list. Sales have been strong for Dick Morris’ anti-Obama ” Catastrophe ” and the reissue of ” The Five Thousand Year Leap ,” by W. Cleon Skousen. And Sarah Palin may top them all. In a feat usually reserved for the likes of J.K.

By Karl Frisch Media Matters For the better part of a week, conservatives in the media have been on a witch hunt for Kevin Jennings , the director of the Department of Education’s Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools. Led by Fox News, the right-wing media have claimed that 21 years ago, when Jennings was a 24-year-old teacher at Concord Academy in Massachusetts, he “cover[ed] up statutory rape” by not reporting to authorities a conversation he had with a student who told him about being

Ha ha ha! We didn’t get the bid for the 2016 Olympics. What a loser that President Obama is. Here are some actual statements made today with derisive gleefulness: Rush Limbaugh – “Our president, Barack Hussein Obama, has been running around the world for nine months telling everybody how much our country sucks…. Why would anybody award the Olympics to such a crappy place?…Obama demeaned the office of the presidency, going on this sales pitch….He doesn’t understand how delighted the world is to make him look foolish in order to take a swipe at our country.

Joe Incognito here. It’s been decided I should use a code name when I am on The Rude News. I am also cleverly disguised, so don’t bother trying to figure out who I am. On to business: Michelle Obama said : “Some of my best memories are sitting on my dad’s lap, cheering on Olga and Nadia, Carl Lewis, and others for their brilliance and perfection.” First Lady my my Michelle… “YOU LIE!” If you look at Michelle Malkin’s post, you would have been about 20.

TPM When the International Olympic Committee voted against Chicago’s bid for the 2016 Olympics this morning — after the President and First Lady flew to Copenhagen to push for it in person — the Weekly Standard newsroom burst into applause. “Cheers erupt at Weekly Standard world headquarters,” wrote editor John McCormack in a post titled “Chicago Loses! Chicago Loses!” The line was quickly removed, but ThinkProgress caught it in time and posted a screenshot of the post.

I’ve always admired Roger Ebert as a movie critic. When he and his partner Gene Siskel started reviewing films I always found my views aligning with the Ebert half of the aisle. As he and I have grown older, that alignment has only strengthened. Lately, Roger has also earned my respect as a political voice of reason. In a piece out this week , Ebert takes the fringe elements of today’s political society to task for their increasingly bizarre and worrisome tirades against the President, even in the face of logic and reason.

First of all Chicago did not fail. Obamas failed. They made this about themselves. Michelle Obama and her wonderful husband “who knows a little something about change” own this monumental failure. Here is the real reason why Chicago’s Olympic Bid Failed: Watch Michelle Obama’s Speech to the International Olympics Committee It is all about me Michelle Obama, me First Lady, me Chicagoan, my daughters, my dad, my husband.

And the winner is . . . Rio de Janiero . Maybe the President shouldn’t have said : [W]e are putting the full force of the White House and the State Department to make sure that not only is this a successful Games, but that visitors from all around the world feel welcome and will come away with a sense of the incredible diversity of the American people. or [O]ver the last several years sometimes that fundamental truth about the United States has been lost.

Chicago was voted out of the 2016 Olympics in the first round. Rio de Janeiro ended up the pick and I think it’s wonderful that they enjoy the first Olympiad to be done in South America. It’s too bad that Chicago wasn’t able to get it though. Bare minimum, it would’ve meant a huge influx of money to the US. But from the looks of it, there’s a few folks that are celebrating a bit more than the good folks in Rio.
