Chuck Todd is a contributing editor at Meet the Press.NBC’s Chuck Todd has this very revealing bit in Politico today.Targeting, among others, Glenn Beck (by name) and, not by name, Roger Ailes and Arianna Huffington.Dissing Beck as a “radio DJ” using “crazy language” to deliver “outrageous rants,” for which he should be taken off the air, Todd goes on to foam that “actual journalists” may be headed toward a Beckian world of Howard Beales, the unhinged TV star from the film Network.“It’s getting nuts that the folks who are creating the perception of an ideological/polarized media world are people who have never really spent their lives being journalists.

Today, House members are back home to begin their month-long recess. The far right has indicated that they plan to welcome many of their representatives with large, angry throngs (“ town halls gone wild ”). The corporate lobbyists engineering these “grassroots” efforts have indicated their harassment strategy is to “yell,” “stand up and shout,” and “rattle” the members. Politico reported that Democratic members of Congress are increasingly being confronted by “ angry, sign-carrying mobs and disruptive behavior ” at local town halls.

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele was talking about the party he leads when, in remarks to the committee’s governing body here Friday, he compared the GOP’s improving fortunes to the unlikeliest of individuals.“As Hillary Clinton would say, we found our voice,” Steele quipped.Yet six months into Steele’s term at the helm of a badly bruised party, some of the Republicans who winced through his stumbling debut suggest the chairman could just as easily have been speaking of
