Rahm Emanuel isn’t called Rahmbo because of his skills in diplomacy, and Chicago isn’t known as the town of the crooked Democrat political machine for no good reason. Now — finally — Darrell Issa (R-Calif), who should have been the candidate for California governor in a re-call election to oust Gray Davis (D-Calif) — has put out a news release chastising the bulldog tactics of Mr. Emanuel. The ones who agree with it the most are probably Democrats who have been his target. ~Pesky Emotional Republican.

In the second quarter of this year alone, the health insurance industry has reportedly spent $133 million to snafu any meaningful medical reform. The “insurers have played the inside game,” writes Politico’s Glenn Thrush, “spending about $40 million on an army of lobbyists and lavishing campaign contributions on Democrats and Republicans to kill the public option.” On top of that, there is now strong evidence that insurers are behind the “spontaneous” protests directed at Democratic town hall
