I have to admit to being a little perplexed by the outrage at Rush Limbaugh’s bid to be part of the new ownership group for the Saint Louis Rams.  I mean, I understand that people do not like Rush Limbaugh.  I myself do not like him or his show at all. I don’t think his job as a paid provocateur disqualifies him from purchasing an NFL team.  He has fairly accumulated his money, he wants to spend it in a certain way. The only objection seems to be that people have been offended by some of his comments.

Colts owner Jim Irsay said Tuesday he would not consider voting to approve Limbaugh if he is successful in his bid to buy the team because of Limbaugh’s past, which include racially insensitive comments about Donovan McNabb that led to his exit as an ESPN analyst in 2003. “I myself couldn’t even think of voting for him,” Irsay said at the NFL’s owners meetings in Boston.
