EBay Says There’s No Deal Yet With GM [Carpocalypse] – jalopnik.com 07/10/2009 Remember that deal GM had this morning with EBay to experiment with auctioning new cars ? The one designed to make the ol’ Detroit automaker look innovative? Turns out there’s no deal with EBay. When will GM learn? Hey, GM, would you mind meeting us over at camera three for a minute? OK, GM, seriously, between us, you’ve got to stop this whole half-assed PR thing.

iphone newsA Million iPhone 3GS Sold During WeekendApple announced that for the three trading days after the premiere of the new iPhone 3GS they sold 1 million units. In addition, the company announced that the new iPhone 3.0 OS has been downloaded 6 million times in the first 5 days after placing it on the Web. In other news related to Apple, Wall Street Journal wrote this weekend that the company boss Steve Jobs who withdrew for health reasons from the management at the beginning of the year, has undergone liver transplant and recovered successfully.

Due to moving house and thus having no internet connection for the last several weeks I have missed many of the main news stories, or at least been unable to blog about them. During my ‘down’ time, I read a biography of Tony Benn and dipped into the diaries of both Benn and Richard Crossman. How fitting then that when I emerge, there should be a prominent story about a Civil Servant, fired for voicing her opinions openly on a political website. The political bias of the Civil Service is a recurrent theme of Benn and Crossman.
