The recently concluded Rock & Roll event of Apple last September 9 has brought a lot of revelations on their iPod line. The media event also announced updates on their iTunes and iTunes Store such as the launching of the iPhone OS update 3.1 and iTunes 9 Support. The excitement will definitely be not complete without the presence of the founder, Mr. Steve Jobs, who displayed a great recovery from his liver operation.

David Pogue interviewed Steve Jobs to find out why they omitted a camera from the iPod touch.“Mr. Jobs reiterated what Phil Schiller, the marketing vice president, had said earlier in the onstage presentation: that Apple is really pitching the iPod Touch as a game machine these days.

A few months ago Apple boasted that the company’s App Store had managed to top a staggering 13,000 games . Now there’s over 21,000 Apple said yesterday. It’s an alarming amount of titles. To put things into perspective Apple mischievously compared that number to it’s main competitors on the portable games circuit. As Apple told attendees at a San Francisco event last night the App Store currently has 21,178 titles compared to just 607 for the Sony PSP and 3,680 for the Nintendo DS .

Apple CEO Steve Jobs returned to the limelight 8 September at the annual Apple conference in San Francisco after almost a year’s absence due to medical leave to have a liver transplant. He thanked his anonymous donor, a “mid-twenties year-old” car crash victim, for his generosity and urged everyone to become an organ donor. Looking thin and frail, Jobs reported that Apple had sold 30 million iPhones in little over two years. He also announced software improvements to the iPod Nano, new features at iTunes, and price cuts in the products.

As usual Palm makes a booboo by choosing the same date to announce the Palm Pixi when Apple guru Steve Jobs returns to the helm and of course the Palm Pixi gets overshadowed just like the Palm Pre did reports pcworld . Palm gained coverage but really should learn to hold off and let Apple have its glory or simply beat Apple in the announcements game.
