Apple announced yesterday that the new iPod nano will have a video camera, and that the iPod classic will have its memory upgraded from 120GB to 160GB.According to Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs, the price for the iPod Classic will remain the same in the US, however it’s now known what the device is going to cost in the UK.Apple also announced the new iPod touch with larger capacity – $299 for 32GB and $399 for 64GB.

In an interview with the New York Times columnist David Pogue , Apple chief executive Steve Jobs emphasized that Apple was going after the video game market, particularly with its iPod Touch gadget. That explains why there is no camera in the iPod Touch — a topic of much debate today, as Apple introduced a video camera in the iPod Nano but not the iPod Touch. In the last twenty-four hours two major events occurred: Apple’s “It’s Only Rock and Roll” iPod Event and the release of the Beatles back catalogue on CD and consoles simultaneously (via Beatles Rock Band). But alas, there will be no Beatles on iTunes. Apple’s Steve Jobs delivered this morning’s keynote but he didn’t look too well, which made us ponder who would take over the reigns if he stepped down.

President Obama addressed a joint session of Congress tonight to talk about health care reform ( transcript here ). I’m not afraid to admit that I cheered at times and I cried when he talked about the late Sen. Kennedy and the “character of our country.” I know the conservative chorus is already spinning. I like Obama’s calm, firm resolve on this and many issues. I welcome a president who is measured, unafraid to show his intelligence and education (not a fan of “strategery”) and is deliberate.
