With the end of September comes the end of fiscal year 2009 for Apple. While the company won’t be releasing the numbers for another two weeks or so, consensus estimates from Wall Street for the fourth quarter will fill in the blanks, as Apple always beats estimates. The interwebs remain ablaze with iProd / iTablet rumours and it doesn’t look like they’re gonna calm down anytime soon. iLounge is fanning the flames using the same source that gave it an early heads-up on the new iPod Nano 5G. It’s already fairly common knowledge that Apple has rehired the former architect of the hand-writing recognising Apple Newton and now there’s more! Word is that the Apply one has developed not one, not two but three prototypes for the glorious flatbed.

DVD Jon, who gained fame and notoriety for cracking DVD and iTunes encryption, has since devoted a lot of his time and energy into DoubleTwist , and iTunes replacement. The above video is, of course, a parody of Apple’s anti-IBM “big brother” commercial that aired during the 1984 SuperBowl, this time recasting Apple — and Steve Jobs — as “big brother” and intimating they’ve become what they once mocked. All this by way of promoting the next release of DoubleTwist for Mac, coming Oct. 6.
